Olga Viso is an independent curator and non-profit arts consultant based at Arizona State University, where she serves as a Senior Advisor for Global Partnerships in the Arts at ASU’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. As a scholar of contemporary and Latin American Art, she has worked in museums since the late 1980s. She was executive director of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis from 2008-2017, where she completed a $75 million capital and endowment campaign that expanded the footprint of the city’s 17-acre Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, added 15 new public sculptures, and an AIA award winning new entrance. From 1995-2007, she was curator, deputy director, and director of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC. As an independent nonprofit arts consultant since 2018, she has done consulting projects with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Theaster Gates’ Rebuild Foundation in Chicago, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art Trustees in Washington, DC. She is an emeritus member of the Association of Art Museum Directors.
