Dr. Patricia Cramer is an independent wildlife scholar. For 19 years she has researched wildlife crossing structures and worked to include wildlife concerns into transportation processes, with the goal of reducing wildlife-vehicle collisions while promoting wildlife connectivity.
She shares her knowledge with both wildlife professionals and engineers to help create the most effective wildlife crossing structures. She founded the Wildlife Connectivity Institute. Her research projects include three national level projects, and work for 14 departments of transportation, mainly in the western U.S. She was formerly a professor at the University of Florida, Montana State University, and Utah State University.
