Join us as we explore the city’s diverse bike infrastructure on a 7.5-mile ride covering downtown Minneapolis, the Mississippi River, and the University of Minnesota. Learn Minneapolis’ cycling history, gain implementation insights, and discover important design and maintenance considerations.

Learning Outcomes:

Learn about the history of Minneapolis bike infrastructure and key development phases.
Understand how planning, policies, and equity considerations shape the city's bicycle network, including the city's VisionZero program and how the city is addressing greater safety issues in low-income communities and communities of color.
Learn best practices when designing bicycle facilities, including accessibility, transit, and maintenance considerations, highlighting results from recent community engagement with vision-impaired residents and their experience and preferences when navigating the city's bike infrastructure.
