Increased environmental impacts on global food systems have inspired more ecological approaches to agriculture. This panel will discuss methods of conservation agriculture, examining how landscape architects are reinventing agricultural landscapes as places that leverage food production to synthesize ecology, technology, and cultural opportunities that educate the public and future farmers.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn about the role that landscape architects are playing in the design of future agricultural landscapes and some of the methodologies they are employing.
  • Understand key principles and applications for conservation agriculture and how regenerative approaches can be incorporated into agricultural landscapes to improve environmental outcomes.
  • Explore how designed agricultural landscapes are playing an important cultural role in educating communities and future farmers.
  • Understand how new technology in agriculture is being employed to enhance data and the management of agricultural landscapes.
