Helen holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and a Graduate Certificate in Heritage Conservation from the University of Arizona. She teaches preservation planning in the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona, where she also directs collaborative student internships with the National Park Service. Helen currently serves as the national American Society of Landscape Architects liaison to the Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS). She has documented numerous landscapes, including the Eckbo-designed TCC Plaza (Tucson), Faraway Ranch, Fort Apache, and Fort Bowie. Helen has supervised approximately a dozen HALS projects with University Arizona students.
