Amira Slocum, SASLA, is a graduate student in the College of Design’s Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning program at North Carolina State University. Growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana, she recalls life prior to Hurricane Katrina and the effects on her childhood and community after, fostering her interest in green spaces that heal communities mentally and physically.
Role: Interviewed diverse and inclusive students from different universities in Landscape Architecture to find out how they see the world due to their experiences and what attracts them for their future employers to create inclusive work environments.
