Matheus Barbosa do Rosario is an architect and urban planner in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, who began his architectural studies in 2014. He is currently a researcher and student in the Master of Architecture and Urbanism program at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), where he is focusing his thesis research on the interplay between African “smart cities” and Afrofuturism. Matheus is also a practicing architectural designer working on the retrofit of public schools and water-conservation projects with Afro-Brazilian communities in the Northeastern region of Brazil.
