As director of research for Urban Rivers, Phil is studying the ecological impacts that artificial floating wetlands and other habitat creation practices have on urbanized waterways. The main focus is currently on the Wild Mile, a mile long floating eco-park being built in a formerly industrialized stretch of the Chicago River.
